The lakes early learning Centre Philosophy

When Children enter this centre:

They belong because we ensure every child is included, valued and welcomed every day. We ensure all children are involved and confident learners and are treated with respect.
They are respected because they are listened to and their opinions are valued and appreciated.
They are artists because we promote creativity and provide opportunity for them express themselves as individuals.
They are mathematicians because we encourage them to learn and explore with numbers through daily activities and experiences.
They are leaders because we lead by example, provide them with opportunity to become strong leaders and make thoughtful decisions.
They are explorers because we encourage them to discover and explore their environment and take interest in individual ideas. Children are encouraged to ask questions and problem solve to become aware to the world around them.
They are unique because we treat each child as an individual with unique characteristics and abilities.
They are friends because we encourage each child to listen to others, respect each other, value each other’s views, and be kind to everyone. We embrace all children’s cultures, ideas and values.
They are readers because we encourage exploration of books, language and words.
They are scientists because we encourage the children to experiment with new things, gain knowledge from exploring and using a variety of problem solving skills.
They are listened to because we ensure each child’s voice is heard, their opinions are valued and we care.
They are environmentalist because we are embedding sustainable practices in their daily routines. We are teaching them to value the environment and world they live in.
