POSSUM & BILBY
(6 weeks – 18 months)
Our Possum and Bilby rooms share a private playground which flows from their individual classrooms. These rooms provide nurturing and calm environments which reflect discovery, fun and developmental growth opportunities for babies from 6 weeks of age through to 18 months. We understand and appreciate the trust and care needed in these two precious rooms and we cherish working hand in hand with parents to support the routines established in the home. We strive to create the best possible environment for these earliest days to help all children feel safe and secure so that both parent and child can truly relax and enjoy their time at the Lakes Early Learning Centre.
JUNIOR TODDLERS – WOMBAT
(18 months- 2 years)
Our junior toddler classroom caters for children aged from 18 months to two years. This room has two large indoor learning areas that cater for a variety of planned experiences to further develop the growing skills of our toddlers.
With a purpose built, age appropriate outdoor learning environment that flows from outside to in, this wonderful learning space always has a variety of experiences available to promote the children’s curiosity, wonder, and creativity. With it’s own toileting area our toddlers are introduced to self help skills, toileting and changing themselves.
TODDLERS – KOALA
(2 Years- 3.5 years)
Our toddler room has a spacious classroom that flows out onto their own veranda providing a seamless indoor/outdoor learning space. Sharing with our Wombat’s, our Koala’s have access to the toddler playground giving them ample room to run, jump, ride and build friendships with different age groups. Further promoting and developing our toddlers self help skills, our classroom has a shared bathroom with our senior toddlers which promotes peer learning from their older neighbouring classmates. With a wide range of age appropriate resources, our educators encourage exploration, discovery and imagination through thoughtfully planned learning experiences.
SENIOR TODDLERS – KANGAROO
(2.5 years-3.5 years)
Our kangaroo classroom is one of our biggest. It flows out into the main outdoor playground where children can engage in a variety of indoor/outdoor experiences with our kindergarten and pre kindy classes. The senior toddlers are now competent with their self help skills, role modeling with the younger children and supporting their peers. Parent input and child interests help guide and extend our program with a variety of learning spaces thoughtfully designed that give our budding explorers opportunities to explore, investigate, experiment and create.
PRE KINDY – PLATYPUS
(3 years-4 years)
Our pre kindy classroom is an exciting environment where the children learn through experimental play and begin to develop important life skills that include socialising, sharing and developing their personal identity, sense of belonging and their confidence.
Our educators build strong relationships with the families from the first day and gain a keen understanding of each child’s holistic development and extend through achievable challenges. Each child’s learning is incorporated into our inclusive program. We encourage and welcome parents to work with us in partnership, helping their child to reinforce and perpetuate their new skills.
KINDERGARTEN – EMU‘S AND KOOKABURA’S
We are lucky enough to provide the government approved kindergarten program in not 1, but 2 kindergarten rooms. Delivered by Degree Qualified Early Childhood Teachers, these kindergarten rooms focus on ensuring our children are heading off to Prep with all the skills that are required to succeed. Our Kindergarten rooms are wonderfully resourced, equipped with interactive smartboards and provide individualised learning programs that promote agency, purpose, solidify identity and further develop our children into strong, confident learners who head off to school with the best possible start.
Working alongside parents our Early Childhood Teachers will support your kindy journey and provide transition statements that make the transition to school seamless for everyone.

A healthy and balanced diet
At the lakes we understand that a healthy and balanced diet is crucial for, the growth and development of our children so it is for this reason we have an onsite chef that prepares fresh, delicious and nutritious meals daily. We always strive to ensure that our children are receiving a balanced diet of 3 serves of fruits and vegetables, 1 serve of meat/fish/poultry, 2 serves of breads and cereals and 2 serves of dairy everyday. We also cater for children with allergies and intolerances. For more information regarding our seasonal menu timetable, please contact the centre.
